Course Objectives: 

Aim of this course is to make students comprehend the definition and importance of science education in early childhood; to gain knowledge of fundamentals and standards in science education; to learn and use the teaching techniques and methods in science concepts and scientific thinking skills; to recognize and design appropriate indoor and outdoor science learning centers; to have the competency of planning and implementing science activities and to have the knowledge of science programs used in early science education.

Graduates of the program will:

  1. Identify the definition and importance of science education in early childhood.
  2. Explain the basic concepts, fundamentals and standards in early science education.
  3. Use the teaching techniques and methods in science concepts and scientific thinking skills.
  4. Design appropriate science learning centers in the classroom.
  5. Design outdoor science learning activities.
  6. Plan activities and design materials for early childhood science education.
  7. Identify the role of teacher and parents in early childhood science education.
