Course Objectives: 

This course is designed to teach students how to analyze and summarize selected written studies in the field of English Language Teaching and also how to synthesize information from different reading resources to create their own original academic texts.

Course Learning Outcomes: 

At the end of this class, students will be able to:

1)  Identify the structure of arguments in the reading texts.

2)  Critically analyze the selected texts in the field to create their own summaries and reports.

3)  Evaluate the validity and soundness of arguments in the readings and in their own compositions.

4)  Synthesize information from different reading resources to create their own original academic writings

5)  Employ writing strategies including causal analysis, advocacy of ideas, persuasion, evaluation, refutation, interpretation, and definition.
