Course Objectives:
The aim of this course is to make students familiar with primary education settings, young children and primary education teaching as a profession.
Course Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- recognize the organizational structure, culture and functioning of a school,
- identify the teacher’s daily practices inside and outside classroom,
- describe the instructional strategies used with staff to promote student learning outcomes,
- apply observations of classroom practices by using appropriate tools,
- identify the individual needs of the middle school students in the learning environment,
- plan short teaching and learning activities in collaboration with a mentor teacher,
- evaluate teaching and learning under the supervision of a mentor teacher.
