Course Objectives:
The aim of this course is to become familiar with early childhood education settings, young children and early childhood education teaching as a profession.
Course Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- monitor children’s developmental characteristics and learning processes,
- identify characteristics of educational environments, teacher-child interactions and classroom practices,
- record reflective observations related to teaching methods and techniques peculiar to early childhood education,
- explain organizational structure of schools,
- discuss the factors which influence the selection of appropriate observation techniques to work with children in early childhood,
- implement different assessment tools and techniques.
