Catalog Description
Basic concepts and principles about development, factors influencing development: genetic factors, environmental factors, historical time factor; theories of development: Freud’s psychosocial development theory, Erikson’s psychosocial development theory, Piaget’s cognitive development theory, Maslow’s personality development theory, Levinson’s development theory, ecological approach (Bronfenbrenner); prenatal development, physical development in childhood, cognitive development, personality development, moral development; physical development in adolescence, adolescence-specific developmental tasks, cognitive development in adolescence, personality development, moral development and psychosocial development.
Course Objectives
Objective of this course is to examine the basic concepts, perspectives, theories, and subfields of developmental psychology.
