Course Objectives: 

The aim of this course is to teach the fundamentals of language assessment and help teacher trainees create language assessment instruments that have reliability and validity for their own context.

At the end of this class, students will be able to:

1)  Analyze fundamental concepts of measurement and evaluation,

2)  Relate theories and basic concepts of measurement and evaluation with contemporary ELT methodology,

3)  Prepare test items/questions to evaluate listening comprehension,

4)  Prepare test items/questions to evaluate speaking comprehension.

5)  Prepare test items/questions to evaluate reading comprehension,

6)  Prepare test items/questions to evaluate writing comprehension,

7)  Prepare test items/questions to evaluate grammar comprehension,

8)  Prepare test items/questions to evaluate vocabulary proficiency.
