Course Objectives: 

The main aim of this course is to introduce the processes, operations in production and service systems. The students will discover the problems in these systems, learn the mathematical approaches to decompose and solve these problems. This course will also discuss the components of a supply chain and the importance of systems approach to manage these components. Many cases will be discussed and analyzed.

Software Usage: 
Students will use MS Office applications (especially MS Excel) and linear and integer programming software such as Lindo, Gams, Cplex to work on their weekly assignments about 2 hours a week.

Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. Discover the production and service systems and relevant managerial problems
2. Define a supply chain, its components and importance of information sharing
3. Identify the decision making process in production and service systems and importance of decision support tools
